It has come to our attention that individuals across the country are being wrongfully billed through Medicare for COVID-19 test kits by an organization known as Tru Script Pharmacy. From what we are told, the operation is working in a couple of ways:

1. Individuals are billed for and receive COVID-19 test kits to their homes from Tru Script Pharmacy without placing an order or approving any transaction.

2. Individuals sign up to receive “free” COVID-19 test kits through a Tru Script Pharmacy Facebook ad but never receive the kits and are billed through Medicare.

Tru Script Pharmacy is of no affiliation to TrueScripts Management Services, and we have reported this action to the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

In the interim, we urge others to be cautious of Facebook ads and never to provide Medicare or other personal information to sources you do not know and trust.

If you suspect that Medicare is being charged for an item or service you did not receive or approve of, please call this number to report suspected fraud or abuse: 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).

Remember: Medicare covers the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost to you, so if anyone asks you for your Medicare Number to get the vaccine or a free COVID-19 test, it is likely a scam.
